What the New Congress Means for Evangelical Christians

CBNNews.com -- Lawmakers, present and future, mingled in the Capitol's marble hallways Monday. Republicans exiled from power in last week's elections glumly opened a lame-duck session with wide-eyed Democrats prepared to take control of Congress.

All 50 newly elected House freshmen posed for their class picture. From a former NFL quarterback to a 1970s rocker, the incoming freshmen are all learning how to be members of Congress.

Newly elected Rep. Phil Hare, D-Ill., says it's a lot like starting school. Before last week's election, there was a lot of talk about the impact of the so-called "values voters."

Now that Democrats will control both the House and the Senate, a lot of those "values voters" wonder what's next for evangelical Christians.
